The DelGuard mechanical pencil features a spring system that prevents lead breakage. When too much vertical pressure is applied, a spring in the barrel allows the lead to slide back into the pencil. When too much pressure is applied sideways, another spring extends the lead guard to protect the lead. Additionally, the pencil’s low center of gravity allows for a smooth writing experience.
