Lightning splits the sky, as bone rattling thunder echoes through the lab. This image captured on Retro51’s newest literary Halloween Horror Popper is inspired by one of the most classic Gothic tales, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. In the story, Victor Frankenstein’s obsessive pursuit of knowledge and his desire to uncover the mysteries of life ultimately bring about the hideous creation in the novel from 1818. This unchecked ambition eventually leads to tragic consequences for both the scientist and his creation. The latest Tornado Popper stitches together events from Frankenstein and the Creatures lives: the creation and creator, the pursuit of love turned rage and the Creature retreating from the humanity that rejected him.
