Experience the ultimate in pen turning with our Faux-Stone Pen Blanks in Carnelian. These exquisitely crafted blanks are made from a mixture of dyed stone powder and acrylic resins, resulting in a realistic imitation of genuine stone. The opulent red & orange will add a touch of sophistication to any pen. Ideal for seasoned turners looking to elevate their creations.

Turning Tip:Faux stone is dense, so the tool needs to be sharp. It can be turned with a roughing gouge, skew, or carbide tools (please watch our video showing these tools in use). Because it is stone, it is porous, so you may want to complete it with a thin CA finish (I recommend 2-3 coats of thin and one or two coats of medium.) Once these have cured, sand with 600 grit and polishyou can achieve a high shineEd

Pen blanks are approx 3/4 sq x 5 long. The price is per each; the photo shows a representative sampling of the colors and swirling.
